Originally from China, Tong Li earned his PhD in Physics from Zhejiang University, where he specialized in laser cooling and optical lattice trapping of neutral strontium atoms. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Zhejiang Lab, focusing on cavity optomechanics and light-induced interactions in mesoscopic systems. During this period, he was awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientist Fund and the Zhejiang Lab Youth Research Fund for his research on optical binding forces and ground-state cooling of nanoparticles. In 2025, Tong joined the Cooperative Quantum Optomechanics group at the Atominstitut of TU Wien, led by Ass. Prof. Uroš Delić. His current research explores cavity-mediated non-reciprocal optical binding in atomic and hybrid systems, aiming to achieve quantum control of mesoscopic objects through coupled motional states.
