Kirty Ranjan Sahoo, MSc
I am from India and currently a PhD student in the Cavity Lab. I completed my Integrated BS-MS Dual degree in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India in June 2025, where I was also an INSPIRE Fellow of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. In my Master's thesis, under the supervision of Prof. Ayan Banerjee in the Light Matter Lab (LML) at IISER Kolkata, I investigated the coupled dynamics of asymmetric absorbing microclusters in a photophoretic trap in air, where we experimentally observed and phenomenologically modeled the simultaneous occurrence of active motion and diffusive behavior of a trapped microcluster along two orthogonal spatial directions. Outside of research, I enjoy playing badminton in my free time.
